Dying, 4-17-17

Dying 4-17-17

 (Dictation-driven post)

It is like there are three Dan Riordans:
There is one out there, I think of him as Big Dan, floating around
There is the one in the valley I talked about.
Third one  is hard to describe.
It is like one has to die, but then what hppens to the other two.  Like the Big Dan will be dead, and the third one will be dead, but the one in the valley, flying around with me, will not be dead. Isn’t that odd?

From my mom:

To me, the three Dan Riordan’s are the Body, the Mind, and the Spirit.

It makes sense to me that two of the three would die…the Body and the Mind.

But, the third, the one in the valley, the one flying around with him, would be the Spirit.

It will live on in his children and grandchildren.

Not odd at all.

Alice says when she grows up and has twin babies, two pit bulls and a cat, she will tell them all about Doc. How in the winter time he pushed us on the sled all the way into the middle of the road and it was really fun.

Will says he will tell his future family that Doc was a great guy because, "when I was a kid, Doc came on my field trip with me to the MN zoo. Our favorite exhibit was the Grizzly bears. Mr. B had a rule of no buying treats but Doc and I were alone so he bought me some Skittles. And then I spilled them all over the floor and we had to clean them up. We put them in a paper bag and ate them anyway." *laughing* "Aww man, I have to remember this with Doc when I see him."

Love Will's rememberance of that day. I was there for that field trip and talked to Dan before everyone departed. He noted that he wasn't feeling the best that day but he carried on so happy to be with Will.

Dan, my Pastor helped me with this...I needed some guidance in telling you to follow the flying Dan and he will help you through the wall. I will miss you very much, but knowing you will be pain free is priceless .Solomon says there is a time for everything, a time to live and be able to go to see the Lord... It would seem that your time is drawing close to be able to se the Lord Jesus. Take your rest in his love and care. There you will find peace and comfort. He died so that you could be with him
